Two Point Oh Starts NOW!

It’s league day everybody!

Not just that, it’s essentially the launch of Wisconsin’s Hardest Trivia Pandemic Style 2.0.

If this were an Android program from a few years ago it would have a fun dessert-centric name like “An entire bag of chocolate chips”, or “Like a beer bong but for that caramel sauce you put on at-home ice cream sundaes”, or “Yeah, I ate the whole batch of cookie dough. No, I don’t feel great. If I felt good, don’t you think I could have stopped after like one little scoop of dough, Claire. Don’t you?”

If it were a Apple trivia show it would be named for some cool California locale. Like Wisconsin’s Hardest Trivia Pandemic Style 2.0 “That Giant Sequoia You Can Drive Through”  or “10050 Cielo Drive”.

But perhaps we really need to be honest with ourselves when it comes to naming. An honest reflection of the Wisconsin Hardest Trivia product would be to honor various features of a country fair. Like way back when we started out at Red Dot it was like 0.1 “Win a Goldfish” and then we had other classic versions like .7 “Corn Dog Cart” and 1.1 “Where The Employees Smoke”. But moving into version 2.0, I want you all to get comfortable with “ The Hall of Mirrors Where You Can’t Trust Your Eyes But Your Nose Is 100 Percent Certain That Smell is Urine”.

And it’s good see teams already lining up. They’ve got their tickets in hand. They’re chanting “Let us in” They’re demanding that Bamboo Harvester Of Sorrow is not an actionable clue because trash like Franz KaFKA Twigs is not something you can really study for.

I mean, the players are ready.

So to get your team in the mix, remember there is a new registration process.

  1. Playing Wisconsin’s Hardest Trivia will be $10/player or $50/team of six players. Teams can still play with more than six players, but will be docked 10 points for each additional player.
  2. Be sure your teammates know your team name before the game starts. We are moving to a Zoom-centric platform and this will allow us to put you on the right team. Or if you want to sabotage another team, say Spoony Bards, and 20 people sign up as members of Welcome to Blockbuster that is certainly going to tank their score. That’s how street justice works in Zoom.
  3. Once your team has registered, you’ll get the password to the Zoomiary.
  4. Finally, we’re trying to keep this as open as possible for players. If for any reason this new pay structure keeps you from playing, drop an email on Nick@wisconsinshardesttrivia.com, Anjali@wisconsinshardesttrivia.com or Greg@wisconsinshardesttrivia.com and we’ll get you in the mix.

We’ll be streamlining the whole process over the next few weeks, but for now we’re using the old method of dropping registration fees on paypal.me/SlashGreg.

See you all tonight.
